BASE is the federal government's licensing and supervisory authority for nuclear safety and nuclear waste disposal and is responsible for public participation in the site selection process for a final repository for highly radioactive waste. The contractor (AN) supports the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE) in fulfilling its legal mandate in the various areas of responsibility by observing public discussions, perceptions, opinions and developments and supporting BASE in establishing a targeted dialogue with stakeholders
