Description & Project Overview
BASE is the federal government's licensing and supervisory authority for nuclear safety and nuclear waste disposal and is responsible for public participation in the site selection process for a final repository for highly radioactive waste. The contractor (AN) supports the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE) in fulfilling its legal mandate in the various areas of responsibility by observing public discussions, perceptions, opinions and developments and supporting BASE in conducting a targeted dialogue with stakeholders from the public. A particular focus is on the search for a final repository and related topics of nuclear waste disposal. It is the central task of BASE to enable information and participation of various stakeholders or interest groups (including citizens, local authorities, social organizations, scientists). A comprehensive and current picture of the public (published) (i.e. “obviously made public” within the meaning of Art. 9 Para. 2 lit. e GDPR) perceptions and opinions on nuclear waste disposal with a particular focus on the search for a final repository and interim storage forms an important basis for this. - Further details on the subject matter of the contract and the specific provision of services can be found in tender document 04 “Services”.
