The state of North Rhine-Westphalia promotes the commercial economy and the liberal professions as well as agriculture and forestry, among other things, by providing state guarantees to secure loans, in particular investment, working capital and guarantee loans, in accordance with the "Guidelines for the assumption of guarantees by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the economy and the liberal professions as well as agriculture and forestry". The guarantees are taken over as default guarantees and generally relate to a guarantee obligation above currently 2.0 million.
