In March 2026, the BABS published the fourth edition of the national risk analysis “Disasters and Emergencies Switzerland” (KNS). It includes a risk analysis with 44 risk scenarios as well as additional products. This includes the hazard catalog with 107 hazards from the areas of “nature”, “technology” and “society”, the method description, the risk brochure, 44 hazard dossiers as well as a learning unit for upper grades and interactive graphics on risks and interrelationships. Due to environmental influences, trends and developments, the threat and risk landscape is constantly changing. A regular review is therefore necessary so that the BABS and its partners have up-to-date information available for planning and analysis work. A new edition of the KNS products is planned for 2030. The first results should be available to bodies that base their work on national risk analysis by the end of 2029. All results and products should be available in the relevant languages ​​by the end of 2030.
