Introduction Country : Kazakhstan Description of the Assignment: International Consultant on the Dam Safety: Monitoring and Operation Specialist (only dam specialists) Period of assignment: 65 working days (tentatively November 2026 - April 2027) Place of Work: Home-based, with 1 business trip to Astana, Kazakhstan Contract type: Individual Contract PROJECT DESCRIPTION The UNDP Components B “Automation Center for Advanced Water Management Established, and O&M Capabilities Enhanced”, C “Institutional Capacity Developed, Technology, and TVET in Water Management Mainstreamed”, E “Project Management & Implementation Support” are an integral part of the Islamic Development Bank (hereinafter-IsDB) Project in Kazakhstan “Climate Resilient Water Resources Development (Phase-1)” Tranche-1 (hereinafter- Project). The Government of Kazakhstan (hereinafter-GoK) and ISDB defined the strategic objectives of the Project which aims to improve agricultural productivity, ensure food and water security for vulnerable communities, and build resilience to climate change and natural hazards by mitigating water scarcity, reducing irrigation losses, and enhancing agro-ecological zoning.
