Contract Description
Acquisition of services, in batches: Lot 1: Ticketing, surveillance and technical support services for exhibitions at the National Museum of Natural History and Science and ULisboa Botanical Gardens; and Lot 2: Assistance and support services for academic and cultural events at the University of Lisbon Lot 1 – Ticketing, surveillance and technical support services for exhibitions at the National Museum of Natural History and Science and Ulisboa Botanical Gardens;
The University of Lisbon, within the scope of its powers to promote and manage cultural and educational heritage, recognizes the pressing need to ensure the provision of specialized ticketing, surveillance and technical support services for the National Museum of Natural History and Science, as well as the Botanical Gardens. The historical and heritage relevance of these spaces, together with the volume and specificity of the activities carried out in them, require continuous and highly specialized attention, which goes beyond the Universitys internal response capabilities. The outsourcing of these services is justified by the complexity and particularity of the functions involved, which include, in particular, the protection of high-value cultural assets, the management of visitor flows and the maintenance of rigorous security standards. These services are essential not only to guarantee the preservation of cultural heritage, but also to guarantee the quality of the visitors experience, factors that are essential to the Universitys public mission. Bearing in mind that the contract currently in force for the provision of the aforementioned services will cease to be valid on December 31, 2025, it is necessary to initiate a new pre-contractual procedure with a view to concluding a contract that ensures the uninterrupted continuity of these services from January 1, 2026. Safeguarding the operability and security of the National Museum of Natural History and Science and the Botanical Gardens, a cultural heritage of national importance, requires that the contract be carried out with due anticipation and rigor, in order to avoid any interruptions that could compromise the normal functioning of these cultural spaces.
