Conract awarded for Execution contract – ab 04 – capacity-enhancing measures t2/t3
To increase flexibility for air traffic at arlanda, renovations will be carried out in terminal 2 and terminal 3. terminal 3 and terminal 2 will be integrated via an airside walkway after passengers have passed security control. security control in terminal 3 will be removed and new capacity will be added to the security control in terminal 2.
the project is divided into 4 stages.
all stages can/must be started simultaneously. stages 1 and 4 are completed in january. stages 2 and 3 are completed in november.
stage 1.
the security control shall be expanded with three new lanes. areas from the adjacent tax-free shop will be utilized to enable the expansion. new walls, shutters, and glass partitions shall be built. new areas shall be adapted to existing ones. 2 new x-ray machines will be procured. remaining equipment will be relocated from existing controls.
stage 2.
integration of terminal 3 into terminal 2. inside terminal 2, a walkway will be created via the old flow to gate 62. doors and partitions impeding the flow shall be demolished. well away by the outer wall, an opening will be made through the wall to the intermediate building (building 214). a new csra will be added near the walkway towards t3. adaptation of installations. a new evacuation route will be established.
stage 3.
security control in t3 will be dismantled/demolished including back-of-house areas. 2 backslussar (security revolving doors/airlocks) will be demolished/dismantled. areas will be restored after demolition. on floor 3, existing areas shall be adapted for tenants.
stage 4.
the arriving baggage hall will be demolished in its entirety. the slab will be demolished. ground will be prepared for a new bus boarding area. a new windbreak/vestibule will be built.
