Contract Description
The aim of the contract is the implementation of a study that is part of the implementation of two measures of the Rescue Program for the common owl in the Czech Republic. Specifically, this concerns the implementation of A.1 Measures for the elimination of anthropogenic traps, B.1 Measures for the elimination of the lack of safe nesting sites and shelters. The aim of the first measure is to prevent the death of eagles in technical traps (e.g. water tanks, vertical pipes, air conditioning). The aim of the second measure is to support reproduction by providing safe nesting sites and prevent unnecessary deaths due to increased predation pressure. The subject of the commissioned study is to implement cost-free trap security measures in 137 home districts defined within the so-called zone A and to create an overview of (i) unsecured technical traps that must be eliminated, including proposals for their security and owners' comments on the implementation of the measures in question, and (ii) measures necessary for the security of nesting sites, including proposals for their security and owners' comments on the implementation of the measures in question. The result of the study will be a completed protocol for each home district and a statement from the owners on the implementation of the measures in question. The protocol form is part of the contract (specifically, Annex 2 of the contract). The owner's statement form is part of the contract (specifically, Annex 3 of the contract). Furthermore, at a distance of up to 3 km from each home district occupied in the years 2018-2020, 2-3 potentially suitable nesting sites will be selected on the basis of electronic maps. Selected localities will be drawn in a circle with a radius of 500 m in electronic map documents and will be submitted in this form.
