Description & Project Overview
The purpose of the work is to draw up a track plan between Kattilakoski and Pello (track kilometers 970+850 – 1004+260) in accordance with the Railway Act and the instructions of the Finnish Railways Agency. The Kattilakoski-Pello track plan is part of the Tornio - Kolari electrification planning project of the Finnish Railways Agency. The design site is located in the province of Lapland, in the municipality of Pello, on the track section 2203 (Tornio) – Kolari, which is a non-electrified, single-track mixed-traffic line. The planning area includes e.g. Pello traffic point, 18 level crossings, 9 identified soft rock areas, 2 rock open cuts, 8 railway bridges, Juokseng, Turtola and Pello
