The “Central OR expansion” project at the clinic in Siegen-Weidenau includes, on the one hand, the expansion of the existing stretcher entrance to include a technical room and its two-story extension, as well as, on the other hand, the addition of a sterile corridor on the 1st floor to the existing operating area. As part of the construction project, large areas of the central operating room and adjacent functional rooms (technology, etc.) will be completely renovated and partially restructured. The central operating room is to be expanded to include two more operating rooms. The entire construction project takes place during ongoing hospital operations, which creates several individual construction phases. On the other hand, temporary arrangements must be created. The construction schedule initially provides for the construction of the shell of the extension to the couchette access as well as the addition of the sterile corridor using lightweight construction. The recumbent approach will then be expanded and the first areas of the interior will be rebuilt. Current hospital operations always take priority over construction work! Hospital operations may therefore require interruptions to the construction work at any time. It is essential to take employees and patients into consideration. The hygiene requirements to be clarified with the construction management before the start of construction must be observed.
