Scope of the service
the contractor supports the structuring of a private sector co-financed electrification model for two selected secondary towns in the NBMS corridor, in southern Chad, as well as the preparation and conduct of the selection process for the operators responsible for its implementation. to this end, it works closely with the competent implementing entities, in particular ADERM and ARSE, in consultation with the GIZ team based in NDjamena as well as in Pala and Kélo.
the model to be developed covers decentralised hybrid energy solutions, based primarily on photovoltaic installations, battery storage systems and, where applicable, backup thermal generation units, as well as the associated grid infrastructure, including transformer substations, distribution networks, smart meters and load management devices. these solutions must enable the supply of electricity to households, small and medium-sized enterprises and public and social infrastructure, under conditions of reliability, tariff affordability and climate resilience.
