Contract Description
General planning / general renovation and securing 4-class Humboldt-Gymnasium Eichwalde General planning / general renovation and securing 4-class Humboldt-Gymnasium Eichwalde
The Humboldt-Gymnasium in Eichwalde is a traditional school building in the center of Eichwalde on the corner of Bahnhofstrasse and Humboldtstrasse. The old building consists of three listed building parts that are assigned to different construction periods (1898, 1910, 1928). The older parts of the building, including the roof, were renovated between 1994 and 1996. The cafeteria on the farm was built in 1997 and the two-story extension was completed in 2008. The schoolyard is narrow and was redesigned in 2014. As part of BER airport noise protection measures, a ventilation system was installed in the old building by 2016. A growing number of school-age children, intensive use of all rooms and increasing technical requirements make renovation and adaptation of needs necessary. Based on the school development planning, the existing 3.5-class Humboldt-Gymnasium in Eichwalde is to be functionally converted into a 4-class system through suitable structural measures on the property. Required structural measures were examined and mapped out in the planning as part of a feasibility study. In order to increase speed, a new building as an extension, the addition of the rear two-story extension building, the subsequent necessary overall renovation of the listed old building and the renovation of the cafeteria are to be carried out in construction phases while the school is still in operation. Finally, the entire outdoor area including the fencing and parking spaces for bicycles are to be redesigned. The overall measure includes the general planning services of service phases 1 to 4 to ensure the operation of a 4-class high school. The client reserves the right to further commission service phases 5-9 optionally and, if necessary, individually. Planning must begin immediately after the order has been placed. The planning must be geared towards ensuring that the full four-speed system can be put into operation by the 2033/34 school year at the latest. The plan is to put completed parts of the building into use earlier so that other areas can be opened up. Alternative rooms are not known. The overall measure is expected to end with the completion of the outdoor facilities at the end of September 2034.
