Description & Project Overview
Due to current legal requirements of the Groundwater Ordinance (GrwV) and the General Administrative Regulation for the designation of nitrate-polluted and eutrophic areas (AVV GeA), the consideration of denitrification, including the determination of the nitrate concentration in the groundwater in Saxony-Anhalt, is playing an increasingly important role in water monitoring. Therefore, N2-Ar analysis is to be carried out on 500 groundwater samples using membrane inlet mass spectrometry (MIMS method) in 2027 and optionally in two subsequent years to determine the current denitrification in groundwater in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The analysis results should then be evaluated and interpreted and documented in a final report.
