Description & Project Overview
The 1120 railway line connects the two Hanseatic cities of Hamburg and Lübeck. It is one of the most important connections between Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg and part of the freight transport corridor from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean. In order to improve the condition of the system, DB InfraGO AG will therefore carry out renewal and maintenance measures on tracks, switches, control and safety technology, overhead lines, structural engineering structures (bridges, culverts and retaining walls), as well as traffic systems and noise barriers in the second half of 2028 during a total closure of almost 6 months
