For future UNILAC operation at the GSI, 150 kW transistor amplifiers are required as preamplifiers for 1.8 MW tube amplifiers or as final amplifiers for resonant loads such as particle accelerator cavities. The transistor amplifiers are intended to provide a maximum pulse power of up to 150 kW at an operating frequency of 108.4 MHz in mixed pulse operation with a maximum repetition rate of 50 Hz, with an average power of max. 30 kW.
