Contract Description
Barrier-free expansion of the Stadtbahn stop Barbarossaplatz - Construction services GU Barrier-free expansion of the Stadtbahn stop Barbarossaplatz - Construction services GU
The subject of the procurement is the EU-wide award of a construction contract as a general contractor service for the barrier-free upgrade of the Stadtbahn stop Barbarossaplatz (lines 16 and 18) in Cologne, including the structural adaptation of the adjacent traffic, pedestrian and square areas. The objective of the measure is the complete establishment of barrier-free access at the stop as well as its functional, traffic-related and urban planning integration into the existing street space. The construction work will be carried out while Stadtbahn and road traffic continue to operate and places increased demands on the construction sequence, traffic safety measures and interface management. The construction services include, in particular, the new construction or conversion of the platforms, track construction and track adaptation work, road and civil engineering work, structural engineering services, adaptations of traffic areas and technical equipment services for the platforms. The measure also includes landscaping services, including greened passenger shelters and rainwater retention measures (e.g. infiltration trench systems) as a pilot project, the restoration and redesign of adjacent green and recreational areas, as well as dismantling, provisional works and disposal work. The implementation of the measure takes place in four construction phases, with construction phase 1 and construction phase 3 each divided into sections 1a/1b and 3a/3b. Construction phase 2 comprises a defined 10-week closure period, during which, among other things, all track construction in the stop area must be implemented. Construction phase 4 includes the remaining work. The construction phases are designed so that the accessibility of the surroundings as well as Stadtbahn and road traffic are largely maintained outside the closure periods. The measure requires the coordinated execution of several trades, in particular track construction, road and civil engineering, platform and structural engineering, technical equipment, traffic area and surface construction, landscaping services, traffic management and traffic safety as well as other construction-accompanying ancillary services.
