Finland – Medical equipments, pharmaceuticals and personal care products – Spectrophotometry

The object of the acquisition is a spectrophotometer. The acquired UV-Vis spectrophotometer is used in the special chemistry laboratory of the HUS Diagnostic Center for qualitative and quantitative determinations in metabolism and porphyria analysis and for checking the concentration of standard solutions of in-house methods. Patient samples are determined with the available spectrophotometer. The device is also used in the Automation Laboratory for examination of cerebrospinal fluid samples by scanning the spectrum. The tests currently carried out with the device are e.g. determination of plasma hemoglobin by calculation from the spectrum
