Description & Project Overview
The use of drones is developing rapidly in many sectors, especially in agriculture, environmental management, public health and specialized technical interventions. These technologies enable targeted application of substances in hard-to-reach areas, potentially reducing operator exposure and improving treatment accuracy. In the field of biocides, the use of drones can be an interesting alternative to certain conventional application methods. Several potential applications were identified, including the treatment of roofs against mosses, lichens and algae, the control of pests in trees and the controlled distribution of biological pesticides against mosquitoes. However, the use of drones for the application of biocides also raises questions regarding the effectiveness of the treatments, the dispersion of the substances, the environmental impacts, the risks to human health and the adequacy of the existing regulatory framework. The FPS Public Health therefore wishes to have an independent scientific evaluation capable of assessing the relevance of this technology, the conditions for its possible use and the measures necessary to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment, in compliance with the legal obligations imposed by Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. The utilization of drones involves rapid development in the nombreux sectors, notation and agriculture, in the management of the environment, in public health and in special intervention techniques. These technologies are a permanent application of the substances in the zones difficile d'accès, the potential for the exposure of the operators and the precision of the characteristics.
