Contract Description
ÁH_52 Hadron scattering detection wall ÁH_52 Hadron scattering detection wall
The goal of the project Development of medical imaging, remote sensing, and nuclear security based on particle physics detectors that realize precise timing is the development of advanced detectors originally designed for particle physics applications and their transformation for use in the fields of medical imaging, diagnostics and hadron therapy. Using high-precision solutions and methods from particle physics, the project aims to revolutionize medical treatment and therapy, improve remote sensing and increase nuclear safety. The project collaborates with prestigious institutions such as Caltech, CERN and the University of Copenhagen. Key initiatives include the Hadron Scattering Sensor Wall, Multi-Channel Precision Timing LIDAR and the development of GEANT simulations for Hadron Therapy. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project aims to stimulate innovation and address critical societal challenges in various sectors. The University of Copenhagen will set up the laboratory necessary for the assembly of the detector, provide the related tools and professional background, and perform the testing of the readout electronics prepared and delivered by the University of Debrecen.
