The subject of the support is the partial application for patents (parent applications), which essentially contain the contributions developed by the client's institutes to the international mobile communications standards of 3GPP 4G, 5G and 6G for various technical specifications, including the TS 36.xxx series, TS 38.xxx series, TS 23.xxx series and 26.xxx series, as well as their extensions and successor standards as well as Wifi, IEEE 802.11 family and related technologies. The standardization takes place in the 3GPP committees within the Technical Specification Groups (TSGs) (TSG SA, CT, RAN) with the working groups (e.g. RAN1-RAN4, SA1-SA4, CT1, CT4) within the framework of the framework specifications defined in the ITU-R (International Telecommunications Union - Radiocommunications) (e.g. IMT-2020 for 5G, IMT-2030 for 6G). Significant parts of this portfolio are standard essential patents (SEP). They are primarily exploited via patent pool programs and bilateral license agreements.
