Description & Project Overview
When funding projects, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) commissions selected contractors (ANs) to carry out project sponsoring tasks (so-called project sponsors - PT) in order to use their support to meet the requirements of efficient use of funding through careful technical and administrative planning, implementation and control. The contractor provides the BMFTR with technical and administrative support in all phases of project funding (from advising interested parties and applicants to reviewing applications, including assessment by expert committees, support during the term and verification of proof of use), in the strategic further development of the funding priorities and in disseminating the results within the framework of specialist communication. This requires the contractor to have specialist scientific, administrative, business management and research policy skills; it forms an important interface between applicants and donors at national, European and global levels and fulfills a service function for the BMFTR. With the “Health Research” framework program and its three programmatic areas of action “Preventing and curing diseases”, “Promoting medical progress” and “Strengthening the research location”, the Federal Government is strengthening health research so that it can successfully meet the major health challenges of our time and advance Germany as a location for innovation. The guidelines “The focus is on people” (including the aspects “Translation/Transfer” and “Participation”) and “Personalization and digitalization as key” permeate all areas of action in the framework program. The program provides the strategic framework within which the federal government promotes health research at universities, university hospitals, non-university research institutions and in industry. The guiding principle of the current framework program is to place people even more at the center of health research; Patients should benefit more quickly from innovations and medical progress. As innovations reach patients more quickly, the state of health and thus the quality of life of the population should be continuously improved. For the contractor, this means contributing to the design of the support measures and the organization and implementation of workshops and events. After the publication of the corresponding funding announcements, the contractor is responsible for organizing the selection process and the entire project administration.
