As part of the explosive ordnance investigations for the construction project, the surface fill, which was on average approx. 0.5 - 1.0 m thick, was pushed down to the natural soil on the entire property of former allotment garden colonies and placed into linear heaps. To ensure the absence of explosive ordnance, the entire filling was carried out with shovel separators in order to screen out foreign components and contaminants. As a result of the sieving and thus extensive homogenization of the soil, the heaps consist of slightly gravelly sands with humus content. After the screening had been completed, all filling soils were examined from the perspective of soil protection and waste law.
