Deutsche Bahn AG is planning a high-speed line (ABS/NBS) between Stuttgart and Augsburg. The structural facilities in the area of PFA 1.3a include the motorway-parallel, mainly above-ground route of the new double-track line on the Filder as well as the connection of the NBS station with the airport tunnel. In the west, the PFA 1.3a connects to the PFA 1.2, Fildertunnel, and in the east to the PFA 1.4, Filder area to Wendlingen am Neckar.
