Various structural defects were listed. Necessary works are required to prevent the loss of the academys teaching qualifications after the next round of inspections. Some areas will be permanently closed. To accommodate this, it is necessary to place classroom containers on the academy site. By placing these containers, combined with work in the building, we have a short-term solution and the academy is ready for the next inspection round. The term of 8 years with the option to extend by 1 year is necessary, in addition to the short-term plan, to work on a long-term solution for the accommodation of the entire Ostend Part-time Art Education, as both locations present challenges in terms of accessibility and available surface area. The current buildings are not suitable for developing the ambitions that include accessible, inclusive and differentiated art education. In order to explore all possibilities and develop a vision for the future, it is necessary to install the containers for 8 years with a possible 1-year extension on the current site in the Dr. Verhaeghestraat.
