With the construction project "New ward building" the Mettmann Evangelical Hospital would like to expand neurological care in the Mettmann district and ensure it in the long term. In addition, the new building will have a geriatric ward and diagnostics. The production kitchen, which is responsible for supplying patients and staff as well as external customers, will be located on the ground floor. As part of the new construction, the existing, single-story kitchen building, which is in need of renovation, will be carefully dismantled. The four-story station building is to be built at this point, which is designed so that a fourth floor can be added. The legibility of the respective use should be reflected in the facade. The ground floor is fully clinkered and thus forms a base. On the north side, this base is continued on the 1st floor, so that the technical floor is also enclosed in the clinker brick facade.
