Description & Project Overview

Internal identifier: 26-44274 Title: Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, restructuring and expansion of water and drainage systems within buildings according to DIN 18381 Description: Water and drainage systems within buildings according to DIN 18381 Type of contract: Construction work Description: As part of the restructuring, expansion and renovation of a museum building in Karlsruhe, the plumbing trade (without insulation) is being tendered. The systems to be processed comprise a large and complexly structured construction project. The entire system consists of a cold water network with softened water and a cold water line with osmosis water. The museum has visitor toilets, employee toilets, tea kitchens and a small kitchen for running the museum café for preparing and serving drinks and meals. Hot water is prepared decentrally using an instantaneous water heater. Most of the pipe insulation is contracted out as a separate contract. The building extends over seven levels - from the second basement floor to the attic - and includes exhibition and technical areas as well as offices, workshops, restaurants, media library as well as storage and restoration areas. The pipelines are routed in sometimes cramped or listed areas with limited accessibility (e.g. historical roof trusses, vaults, low shafts). The technical equipment is brought in via stairwells and construction site elevators. Close coordination with other trades (ventilation, heating/cooling, electrical, building automation, insulation) is required, especially in confined spaces and complex installation sequences. The advertised services offer high technical standards as well as logistical effort and require experience in dealing with sensitive building structures, limited space and demanding assembly coordination. The building is a listed building. All work must therefore be carried out with particular consideration of the monument preservation requirements and the existing historical building structure. In addition, the awarding of 'maintenance services' is the subject of the procedure.
