Description & Project Overview
As part of its activities to promote scientific exchange, the DAAD is increasingly committed to supporting or creating digital and digitally supported offerings. --- Based on the “Dhoch3 / DaF study modules” project, a Moodle platform was created that is now also used by other departments in the company (https://moodle.daad.de/). The DAAD currently operates four areas on the learning management system (LMS) Moodle: Dhoch3 (S14), specialist lecturers support (S14), iDA (S23) and VORsprung (S01). --- These offers differ significantly from one another in terms of content, target groups, language (German/English) and technical specifics, but they all use the same infrastructure of the Moodle platform that has already been set up. The technical support and further development of this platform, the user management in the individual categories (including monitoring and evaluation) as well as the training and advice of the DAAD and the various user groups are central components of the framework contract to be awarded. --- The DAAD uses a cloud server infrastructure certified according to European data protection guidelines to host the Moodle platform. Linux (Ubuntu LTS), Apache2, MySQL and PHP are installed on the servers and they are virtualized using VMWare. The web hosting itself is not part of this tender. Moodle version 4.5.12 is currently in operation; An upgrade to version 5 is planned for the first half of the year in 2027. --- Details can be found in the service description in Appendix 02 of the tender documents
